317L Channel is a low-carbon, molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel with a chemical composition of Chromium (18–20%), Nickel (11–15%), Molybdenum (3–4%), Carbon (≤0.03%), Manganese (≤2%), Silicon (≤1%), and balance Iron. The lower carbon content enhances resistance to intergranular corrosion following welding and high-temperature exposure. It gives a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. SS 317L meets excellent corrosion resistance—especially to chlorides and acidic conditions—with outstanding mechanical strength, weldability, and resistance to localized corrosion such as pitting and crevice attack.
