24–27% nickel, 13.5–16% chromium, 1%–2% molybdenum, 1.9–2.35% titanium, and trace amounts of vanadium and aluminium make up the iron-based superalloy known as A286. It provides good corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance up to 700°C (1290°F), and exceptional high-temperature strength. A286 has an elongation of 20–25%, a yield strength of 585 MPa, and a tensile strength of roughly 1000 MPa. It is appropriate for high-stress situations due to its good fabricability and creep resistance. It is also a material that works well in a variety of industries because it retains its toughness and ductility even under cryogenic conditions.
