EN8 Sheets and Plates Carbon Steel are medium carbon steel with a common composition of 0.36–0.44% carbon, 0.60–1.00% manganese, and traces of elements such as silicon, sulfur, and phosphorus. These plates have high tensile strength (usually around 550–700 MPa) and satisfactory ductility. The hardness may vary from 170 to 250 HB based on the heat treatment. EN8 steel also provides good wear resistance and can be heat treated for hardness for better mechanical performance, and thus it is suitable for structural and mechanical purposes demanding strength and toughness.
