Corten A/B Steel is enriched with copper, chromium, nickel, and phosphorus, making it all the more weather-resistant. Corten A is generally enriched with 0.12% carbon, 0.25-0.75% copper, 0.5-1.25% chromium, and 0.20-0.55% nickel. Corten B contains slightly increased phosphorus for greater toughness. Both grades form a stable, rusty appearance that shields the material against subsequent corrosion. They have a minimum yield strength of 345 MPa and tensile strength between 485 to 620 MPa, together with excellent elongation and ductility, making them appropriate for severe structural and outdoor uses.
