Duplex Steel S31803 is a nitrogen-enriched duplex stainless steel alloy containing about 22% chromium, 5–6.5% nickel, 3% molybdenum, with trace amounts of nitrogen and manganese. This composition provides it with exceptional resistance to crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and pitting. It provides tensile strength of approximately 620 MPa, yield strength of 450 MPa, and elongation of 25%. The dual-phase microstructure of the alloy provides both increased toughness and strength, along with high thermal conductivity and weldability, making it a desirable material for many critical applications.
