Duplex Steel S31803 Foil consists of about 22% Chromium, 5-6% Nickel, 3% Molybdenum, and balanced Iron with Manganese, Silicon, and Nitrogen additions. The balanced two-phase microstructure of austenite and ferrite gives higher strength and corrosion resistance. The common mechanical properties are tensile strength of approximately 620 MPa, yield strength of 450 MPa, and elongation of 25%. Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and pitting also makes the material suitable for severe applications in aggressive environments and chemically aggressive industries.
