Iron and cobalt are added to Hastelloy B3, a nickel-molybdenum alloy that has roughly 65% Ni and 28.5–30.5% Mo. Compared to B2, it has better stability, particularly when exposed to high temperatures and welding. Tensile strength up to about 760 MPa and yield strength of about 340 MPa are examples of mechanical properties. Superior ductility, impact resistance, and resistance to corrosion cracking brought on by stress are all provided by the alloy. B3 is perfect for welded components because it maintains its corrosion-resistant qualities even after being exposed to high temperatures or fabrication stress.
