About 56% Ni, 20–22.5% Cr, 12.5–14.5% Mo, and 2.5–3.5% W make up Hastelloy C22. Fe, Co, and trace elements are also included to improve corrosion resistance. The alloy has a yield strength of about 283 MPa and a tensile strength of about 690 MPa. It provides exceptional resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. This substance works very well in oxidising and reducing conditions, such as nitric acid, wet chlorine gas, and media containing chloride. Additionally, it provides excellent weldability and formability without the possibility of intergranular attack.
