Haynes 188 Sheet and Plate is an alloy based on cobalt, composed chiefly of cobalt, nickel, chromium, and tungsten, with trace amounts of lanthanum improving its properties. It has good high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance up to 1095°C (2000°F). Standard mechanical properties are tensile strength of about 130 ksi, yield strength of about 60 ksi, and 30% elongation in annealed state. The alloy also has good ductility, weldability, and resistance to creep and is found to be applicable for harsh industrial conditions where reliability and high performance are necessary.
