Inconel 600 foils consist mainly of nickel (72% minimum), chromium (14–17%), and iron (6–10%). This solid-solution alloy exhibits excellent resistance to oxidation, carburization, and chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. Inconel 600 foils have tensile strength of 80–100 ksi, yield strength of about 35–50 ksi, and elongation of about 40%. The alloy has retention of strength and stability in a broad temperature range between cryogenic levels and more than 1000°C. It is non-magnetic and has good weldability and formability as well. These characteristics render Inconel 600 foils as a superior option in heat-intensive and corrosive conditions.
