Inconel 718 Foils contain primarily nickel (50–55%), chromium (17–21%), iron (balance), molybdenum (2.8–3.3%), and niobium (4.75–5.5%) with additions of titanium and aluminum. These foils have very good tensile strength of up to 1,400 MPa and yield strength about 1,100 MPa. Inconel 718 is age-hardenable and has high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance up to 700°C. The alloy is also extremely fatigue resistant, stress corrosion crack resistant, and formable, and thus is the best choice for thin, high-strength applications.
