Monel foils consist mainly of nickel (approximately 63%) and copper (27–33%), with small amounts of iron, manganese, and silicon. This solid-solution alloy offers excellent corrosion resistance and a good thermal conductivity. Monel foils have tensile strengths of 70–85 ksi, yield strength of about 25–40 ksi, and elongation of about 30%. They are not magnetic and have structural integrity in both high temperatures and sub-zero temperatures.
