Monel K500 is a precipitation-hardened nickel-copper alloy with supplemental additions of aluminum and titanium, which give it added strength and hardness. Its nominal composition is about 63% Ni, 27–33% Cu, 2.3–3.15% Al, and 0.35–0.85% Ti. The alloy has a tensile strength of up to 1100 MPa, yield strength of 790 MPa, and superior elongation and toughness.
