Monel K500 is a precipitation-hardened alloy consisting of about 63% nickel, 27–33% copper, 2.3–3.15% aluminum, and 0.35–0.85% titanium. It has better mechanical properties than Monel 400, with tensile strength of up to 1100 MPa and yield strength of approximately 790 MPa. It has ductility with elongation of approximately 20%, and toughness even at sub-zero temperatures. Monel K500 coils have good resistance to corrosion in seawater, alkalis, and acidic conditions, and superior stress-corrosion cracking and erosion resistance. This strength and corrosion resistance make them best suited for heavy-duty and corrosive applications.
