Monel K500 is an age-hardenable alloy mainly consisting of 63% nickel, 27–33% copper, 2.3–3.15% aluminum, and 0.35–0.85% titanium. It provides much greater strength than Monel 400, which has tensile strength as high as 1100 MPa and yield strength of approximately 790 MPa. It does not lose its ductility and toughness, even at subzero temperatures, due to its strength. Monel K500 sheets and plates are seawater, acid, alkali, and corrosive agent resistant. Their non-magnetic character, superior fatigue strength, and resistance to stress-corrosion cracking make them well suited for applications in hostile and high-stress environments.
