SMO 254 Channel is an austenitic stainless steel alloy containing high Chromium (~20%), Molybdenum (~6%), and Nitrogen, together with Nickel (~18%), and resisting pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking extraordinarily. It possesses a tensile strength of about 650 MPa and a yield strength of around 300 MPa. SMO 254 offers superior ductility and weldability along with excellent corrosion resistance, even in conditions with high chlorides and brines. Due to these characteristics, it is a better option compared to conventional austenitic and duplex stainless steels in aggressive applications calling for long-term performance and structural integrity.
