Stainless Steel 201 Channel is a low-nickel austenitic stainless steel that offers a good balance of strength, formability, and corrosion resistance. Its composition includes Chromium (16–18%), Nickel (3.5–5.5%), Manganese (5.5–7.5%), Carbon (≤0.15%), and balance Iron. This alloy provides a tensile strength of about 520 MPa, a yield strength of 275 MPa, and an elongation of 45%. While it doesn’t offer the same level of corrosion resistance as 304 or 316 grades, SS 201 performs well in low to moderate corrosion environments. It also maintains good toughness and workability, making it suitable for light to medium structural applications.
