The austenitic chromium-nickel-manganese alloy known as stainless steel 202 coil/slitting coil has roughly 17–19% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 7.5–10% manganese. It also contains trace amounts of silicon, phosphorus, sulphur, and carbon. It has good mechanical strength and corrosion resistance due to its composition. The alloy has a yield strength of 275–450 MPa and a tensile strength of 515–860 MPa. It provides outstanding formability, weldability, and toughness, particularly in low-temperature settings. Although it is not as resistant to corrosion as 304, it is still a good option for many structural and ornamental applications due to its strength and cost.
