With 18–20% chromium, 8–11% nickel, and 0.04–0.10% carbon, stainless steel 304H is a high-carbon variant of 304. Strength at higher temperatures is improved by this increased carbon content. It has a yield strength of 240 MPa, a tensile strength of about 585 MPa, and an elongation of about 40%. In high-heat settings, 304H maintains its structural integrity while retaining good weldability and exceptional oxidation resistance. Because of these characteristics, it is especially well-suited for applications requiring high pressure and temperature where robustness and thermal stability are essential.
