Stainless Steel 310S is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel with excellent high-temperature properties and corrosion resistance. Its average composition contains 24–26% Chromium, 19–22% Nickel with minimum Carbon content (max 0.08%) in order to minimize carbide precipitation. It also has minute quantities of Phosphorus, Silicon, and Manganese. The alloy is provided with a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa minimum, and elongation of at least 40%. Stainless Steel 310S maintains excellent toughness and ductility at high temperatures and provides great structural integrity under thermal stresses and oxidation-susceptible conditions.
