Stainless Steel 316 Channel is an austenitic molybdenum-bearing stainless steel, containing Chromium (16–18%), Nickel (10–14%), Molybdenum (2–3%), Carbon (≤0.08%), Manganese (≤2%), Silicon (≤1%), and balance Iron. The presence of molybdenum adds resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion in chloride environments. It has a tensile strength of around 515 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. SS 316 also has good weldability, toughness, and creep resistance, even under high temperatures. These features make it suitable for uses where both the structural strength and resistance against corrosion are essential.
