Stainless Steel 316L Channels consist of 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, with a maximum carbon content of 0.03%. This lower carbon content boosts resistance to intergranular corrosion post-welding. These channels boast a tensile strength of about 485 MPa and a yield strength of around 170 MPa, ensuring they maintain excellent toughness and ductility, even in cryogenic conditions. SS 316L is also non-magnetic when annealed and provides great forming and welding characteristics, making it ideal for heavy-gauge components that require extensive welding without the risk of carbide precipitation.
