Stainless Steel 316L Foils** typically consist of 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum with a maximum carbon content of 0.03%. The low carbon ensures excellent weldability and resistance to intergranular corrosion. These foils deliver a tensile strength of around 485 MPa and a yield strength of approximately 170 MPa, offering high ductility and toughness even in cryogenic conditions. SS 316L foils also exhibit excellent formability, making them ideal for deep drawing and high-precision fabrication, while maintaining outstanding corrosion resistance in both acidic and saline environments.
Stainless Steel 321 Foils consist of 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and titanium content that is at least five times the carbon content. This titanium stabilization helps prevent carbide precipitation during welding, which in turn maintains corrosion resistance. SS 321 foils boast a tensile strength of around 515 MPa and a yield strength of 205 MPa, along with excellent formability and high-temperature strength. These foils maintain their mechanical properties even at service temperatures up to 870°C, providing durability and resistance to stress corrosion cracking, scaling, and oxidation in high-heat environments.
