Approximately 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum make up Stainless Steel 317, an austenitic high-alloy stainless steel. It has a yield strength of 205 MPa, a tensile strength of about 515 MPa, and an elongation of about 35–40%. Its austenitic structure provides exceptional ductility and toughness.
