Stainless Steel 348 Angles are stabilization austenitic stainless steels consisting mainly of Chromium (17–20%), Nickel (9–13%), and the addition of Niobium (Columbium) for stabilization. The composition keeps the carbide from precipitating and increases resistance to intergranular corrosion. The material provides mechanical properties like tensile strength of about 515 MPa, yield strength of around 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. With a Brinell hardness of around 217, SS 348 Angles exhibit high strength at elevated temperatures. Their better weldability and resistance to oxidation render them fit for continuous service in harsh environments.
