Stainless Steel 3CR12 is a low-chromium ferritic stainless steel with a low carbon content, trace amounts of nickel, manganese, and silicon, and about 11–12% chromium. The alloy has an elongation of 18–25%, a yield strength of about 280 MPa, and a tensile strength of 450–550 MPa. It can be formed easily, is magnetic, and can be welded without worrying about intergranular corrosion. It is perfect for semi-corrosive, cost-sensitive applications due to its mechanical performance and moderate resistance to corrosion.
