Stainless Steel 410 is a martensitic stainless steel containing about 11.5–13.5% Chromium and up to 0.15% Carbon. It is heat-treatable with good hardness, tensile strength (~650 MPa), and moderate corrosion resistance in mild environments and industrial conditions. SS 410 retains magnetic properties in all states and has good resistance to mechanical stress and is therefore suitable for structural and load-bearing applications. It also has good machinability and resistance to scaling at high temperatures.
