Stainless Steel 446 Angles consist of mostly Chromium (23–27%) and Iron, with trace amounts of Manganese, Silicon, Carbon, Sulfur, and Molybdenum. The high-chromium ferritic stainless steel has good oxidation and sulfidation resistance at high temperatures. Mechanically, it provides tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa, yield strength of approximately 275 MPa, and elongation of nearly 20%. It provides structural integrity in severe heat conditions and is resistant to scaling even up to 1100°C. Its ferritic structure and low carbon content ensure good formability and moderate impact toughness, making it suitable for high-temperature industrial applications.
