Stainless Steel 446 Sheets and Plates are primarily composed of 23–27% chromium, with low carbon content and minor additions of silicon and molybdenum. This ferritic stainless steel offers outstanding resistance to oxidation, scaling, and sulfidation at temperatures up to 1100°C. It has a tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa and yield strength around 275 MPa, with good creep strength at elevated temperatures. Though less formable than austenitic grades, it has excellent corrosion resistance in high-temperature environments and moderate mechanical properties, making it ideal for static and thermal applications in aggressive atmospheres.
