Stainless Steel 465 is a precipitation-hardened martensitic stainless steel containing about 11–12% Chromium, 10.5–11.5% Nickel, 1.5% Titanium, and minor additions of Molybdenum and Iron. It can be heat-treated to extremely high strength levels with the retention of excellent toughness and stress corrosion cracking resistance. The alloy has tensile strengths over 1,550 MPa and yield strengths over 1,380 MPa following aging. Although very strong, SS 465 provides moderate corrosion resistance in atmospheric and industrial atmospheres and has good formability in the annealed state.
