Stainless Steel 904L is a low carbon non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel alloy that contains a high concentration of alloying elements such as 19–23% Chromium, 23–28% Nickel, 4–5% Molybdenum, and 1–2% Copper. Adding copper enhances its resistance to reducing acids such as sulfuric acid. Its mechanical properties consist of a minimum tensile strength of 490 MPa, yield strength of 220 MPa, and elongation of 35%. These make the 904L angles very suitable for conditions that need strength, toughness, and resistance to corrosion in harsh chemical and marine environments.
