Stainless Steel 405 Angles feature about 11.5–14.5% chromium and are stabilized with aluminum to improve scaling resistance and enhance toughness at elevated temperatures. This grade is ferritic and cannot be hardened through heat treatment. It boasts a tensile strength ranging from 450 to 600 MPa and a yield strength of around 240 MPa, along with moderate ductility and good weldability. SS 405 also has a lower risk of grain growth and intergranular corrosion, making it suitable for thermal cycling and environments with moderate corrosion. Its stable structure ensures excellent performance under high temperatures and oxidizing conditions.
